The National Society of Black Engineers 44th Annual Convention (#NSBE44) will take place March 21 – 25, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Annual Convention showcases black students and professionals who have a passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), who are high achievers in these fields and who are channeling their dedication to advance their communities and society at large. #NSBE44 will attract more than 10,000 aspiring and practicing engineers, educators and representatives of more than 200 academic institutions, government agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
The convention will feature high-profile speakers, panel discussions, dynamic workshops, networking sessions, community engagement events, technical and scientific competitions, hands-on engineering and science activities and the premier career fair geared toward African Americans in STEM.
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1975. With more than 17,000 members in the United States and abroad, NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the U.S. NSBE’s mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”
NSBE is dedicated to the academic and professional success of black engineering students and professionals. NSBE offers its members leadership training, professional development activities, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more. NSBE comprises 523 active chapters — 291 collegiate, 84 professional and 148 pre-collegiate — located in six geographic regions. NSBE is governed by an executive board of college students and engineering professionals and is operated by a professional staff at its World Headquarters, located in Alexandria, Va.
