The city of St. Gabriel, Louisiana hosted Gospel Recording Artist, Bishop Marvin Sapp, on Friday, March 3rd.  Although preceded by local gospel groups, “Tailor Made”  and Joel Jones and Choir, the Bishop began with songs he is most known for, like the “The Best In Me” and “Praise Him in Advance”.

Bishop Sapp also shared an inspiring word of encouragement to a crowd of close to 200. He spoke of changing perspectives when viewing problems. “What looks like a set back is really a set up and we are to trust God’s timing.”

Bishop stated, “We have to stop trippin’ over the process and get excited about the outcome.” The audience erupted with praise as the Man of God shared how we must pass thru the process to get to greater.

The event was part of a fundraiser to benefit Miss. Tonya Jones as she prepares to compete for Miss Full Figured Exquisite (40+) on the USA Level.  The competition is April 8 in Newark, New Jersey. Miss. Jones shared that she chose Bishop Marvin Sapp because his song, “Never Would Have Made It”, helped her become secure in herself. She would not be where she is now competing on the national level without that confidence. Her motivational quote is “size has no barrier”.
