Grambling President Rick Gallot awarded 496 graduates, including 120+ Master’s Degrees (largest in the schools recent history), and four Doctorates. It was a magical night at Grambling and a continuation of the school’s remarkable year.

Johnny Taylor, President of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, was keynote speaker at the 2017 Spring Commencement at Grambling St. University. The Thurgood Marshall Foundation is a national non-profit organization assisting publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Predominantly Black Institutions with scholarships, capacity building, research initiatives, innovative programs and strategic partnerships.

One of the most memorable moments of the night is when Gloria George received her Doctorate Degree. Her mother, Joyce George, was recognized as a member of the 50th Reunion Golden Grad Class. They shared a special moment together before the entire Hobdy Activity Center. It was a moment the ‘Gram Fam’ will never forget.
