Every person present for the inaugural debut of Bringing Back the Sound last year had an anointed, foot-stomping, hand-clapping good time. The worship experience was held Sunday, September 10, 2017 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Shreveport, La.

The scripture encourages in Psalms 104:33: ‘I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.’ In a room packed to capacity with worshippers, energized dancers exhorted, and Psalmists Qualesia Bullard and Brenda Wimberly wowed. Then came the moment highly anticipated: the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Progressive Baptist Church, Peaceful Rest Baptist Church, Morning Star Baptist Church, Stonewall Baptist Church, and the Voices of Unity assembled, in one place, to adore God the Father; lifting voices of praise and thanksgiving to Him alone!

Together with their choirs on this date were Melete Woods-Terry, James Clark, Antonio Washington, Charles Washington and Jerry Maiden: anointed, prolific, award-winning and notable ministers of music who have impacted the landscape of Gospel music in the state of Louisiana and beyond.

This year absolutely promises to continue the excitement and momentum of last year. On Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 4 p.m., we will come together again for Bringing Back the Sound II!

The featured choirs for Bringing Back the Sound II are: Highly Favored of Baton Rouge, LA., the Greater Alexandria Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, the Voices of New Birth Mass Choir of Kilgore, TX, the Lake Bethlehem Baptist Church Mass Choir, the Church of God in Christ Area 3 Mass Choir, and the New Elizabeth Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir.

Together with their choirs on September 9th will be Minister Marcy Fisher, Charles Jones, Minister Norman Roberts, D Jay Heard, Pastor Joseph Lindsey, and Minister Royce Mosely: all of whom are anointed, capable, powerful and award-winning ministers of music who have been blessed to share their gifts locally, regionally, and nationally.

Setting the atmosphere for this worship experience will be Skylar Bryant and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Ministry of Dance; along with psalmist Minister Jay Williamson of Showers of Blessings Ministries in Shreveport. Jay is an accomplished singer, recording artist, and playwright who was also a finalist for Season 7 of Sunday’s Best.

Radio personality Pastor Corey (Pastor D) Williams of 99.7 KMJJ; along with Pastor Joseph Lindsey of the Mooringsport Church of God in Christ are returning as program movers.

Additional surprises are in store. We look forward to seeing YOU Sunday, September 9, 2018, 4 pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana where Dr. Henry L. Armington, Senior serves as Senior Pastor. SAVE THE DATE!
