Already approved by Google, Amazon, and Roku, the New Orleans based ‘Congo TV Network’ was added to the Apple powerlist of TV apps today. Now viewers can watch all Congo’s shows on any Apple device, including Apple TV, any iPhone, iPad, or Mac Tablet.

“It’s a huge leap for us,” said Gerald Wright (Administrative Director for Eagle View Media Company) at a recent press conference where EVMC announced major upgrades by July 1. “Apple controls a huge piece of the market and we have missed out on that audience for many months. Now we have a great opportunity to reach the millions of people who use Apple devices,” he explained.

EVMC has been petitioning Apple for 8 months on behalf of Congo TV Network but had been rejected for technical reasons. “We are a young company with much ambition. There was a lot we had to restructure on our side to be invited to Apple’s global streaming platform. All these platforms are setup differently. Our team has continuously worked to include the Apple audience and we are excited about this new door which has finally opened for us,” said Ro Wright, Director of Programming for EVMC.

As streaming television platforms continue to deflate cable platforms. Evolving networks like Congo TV Network being included on the most common outlets is a huge necessity. “Amazon, Google, Roku, and Apple are the most common streaming platforms but today you have to also include cellphones because so many people use the phone as their first option,” said Odessa Feaster, Director of Field Operations for EVMC. “Being accessible on the iPhone now is a major opportunity for us,” she explained.

By July, EVMC will announce several upgrades for Congo TV Network. “They’ll see a new look on the website, a much needed simplified way to subscribe, several new shows beginning in August, and a completely new look for television sets thanks to an intervention by Vimeo,” said Ro Wright.

For today though, any user with any Apple device can go to the app store and search for Congo TV Network. The app is free but a subscription is required to view content.
